This guide is for individual arrivals for Hajj 1447 (2026): pilgrims on global packages, on GDS flights, or not travelling with a group. It walks you step by step from leaving the plane to receiving your room keys. Find your route below by where you arrive and where you are travelling to, then follow its steps.

Arriving at the Hajj Terminal, Jeddah
Route 1A: Travelling to Makkah/Aziziyyah
- Follow the signs to immigration. You will need your passport, visa and evidence of vaccination. Wait time: up to 3 hours.
- Collect your baggage. Make sure you collect your own bags and don't let anyone else collect them for you. Don't leave the baggage collection area until your whole group has its luggage, and don't go ahead without your guide. If you need to pray or use the toilet, do so before exiting.
- Clear customs and enter the arrival hall. If your bags are scanned, have any relevant health documents ready to explain large amounts of medication to customs if required.
- Be greeted by Al Bait Guests. After clearing customs, follow the directions given by airport staff towards the transportation areas. Make sure you have seen an Al Bait Guests team member before you are placed on transportation; if you need help, call the Operations Team number above. Al Bait Guests staff will take your passport for scanning and return it when you board the bus for departure.
- Travel to your accommodation by shuttle bus. Wait time: up to 3 hours. Tip: use the waiting time to pray, eat and activate SIM cards as required.
- Arrive at your accommodation. Up to 3 hours' wait time.
- Be greeted by Al Bait Guests and receive your room keys. Check-in at your Makkah hotel is after 6pm on the scheduled date of your package.
Route 1B: Travelling to Madinah
- Follow the signs to immigration. You will need your passport, visa and evidence of vaccination. Wait time: up to 3 hours. See page 19 of “A Practical Guide for Pilgrims” for more information.
- Collect your baggage. Make sure you collect your own bags and don't let anyone else collect them for you.
- Clear customs and enter the arrival hall. If your bags are scanned, have any relevant health documents ready to explain large amounts of medication to customs if required.

- Arrive at your Madinah hotel. Travel time: 1–2 hours by plane, 2–3 hours by train, 6–8 hours by bus.
- Be greeted by Al Bait Guests and receive your room keys. Check-in at your Madinah hotel is after 6pm on the scheduled date of your package. Your passports will also be taken on arrival in Madinah and returned within 2–3 days.

By plane
See the relevant airline desk for departure and check-in information. Wait time: 90 minutes or more. Then follow the route for arriving in Madinah by plane.
By train
Transfers will need to be arranged to the King Abdul Aziz Airport train station. Wait time: up to 2 hours. Then follow Route 2G for arriving in Madinah by train. Make sure you book in advance at https://sar.hhr.sa/web/portal/.

- Travel to your accommodation by taxi. Wait time: 1 hour.
- Arrive at your Madinah hotel. Travel time: up to 2 hours. Check-in at your Madinah hotel is after 6pm on the scheduled date of your package.
Route 1G: Makkah Train Station to Makkah
- Collect your bags from the train and leave the platform.
- Travel to your accommodation by taxi. Wait time: 1 hour.
- Arrive at your Makkah hotel. Travel time: up to 2 hours. Check-in at your Makkah hotel is after 6pm on the scheduled date of your package.
Arriving at Riyadh
Route 3A: Travelling to Makkah or Madinah
- Follow the signs to immigration. You will need your passport, visa and evidence of vaccination. Wait time: up to 3 hours. See page 19 of “A Practical Guide for Pilgrims” for more information.
- Do you have baggage to collect? If yes, go to the airport check-in counter. If not, go straight to the domestic departure gate.
- Fly on to Jeddah or Madinah and leave through the domestic arrival gate. No immigration clearance is needed.
- Arrive at King Abdul Aziz Airport, Jeddah (for Makkah) or Madinah Airport (for Madinah). Wait time: up to 3 hours.
Travelling on to Makkah
Proceed to your Makkah accommodation.
- Custom flights: follow Route 1C.
- Group flights: follow Route 2C.
Travelling on to Madinah
Proceed to your Madinah accommodation.
- Custom flights: follow Route 1E.
- Group flights: follow Route 2E.
