Your First Steps to Hajj

Back

Your Hajj Begins with Three Phases

Nusuk Hajj gives every pilgrim direct access to registration, packages, and payment in one place. Here's how the journey unfolds, so you know what to expect at each point.

  • Get ready and register

Set up your account, upload your passport and photo, and submit your application for review.

  • Get verified

Nusuk reviews your documents. Once you're verified, link the family members you'll travel with.

  • Fund and book

Add funds to your eWallet, choose your provider and package, and book when sales open.

Register for Hajj on hajj.nusuk.sa

International Hajj registration, packages, and payment all happen on this website. The Nusuk phone app is separate: it covers Umrah, Rawdah permits, and other services, so Hajj registration isn't found there.

Hajj tip: The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has warned against third parties offering registration or payment outside the platform, so keep every registration step and package payment inside Nusuk.

Set Yourself Up Before You Log In

Gather these first, so you can complete registration in one sitting.

  • Your toolkit

    • A computer. Uploads and long forms are easier on a laptop or desktop than on a phone.
    • Google Chrome. It was the most reliable browser during the 1447 season.
    • Your phone, close by. Nusuk sends one-time passwords (OTPs) when you register and log in.
    • One email address for the whole season. Every update arrives there, from verification to sales dates.
    • One folder. Save your passport scan and photo together, ready to upload.
  • Your documents

    • A passport valid until at least 1 December 2027.
    • A scan of your passport's photo and details page.
    • A recent personal photo on a white background.
    • Your contact details and home address.
    • Health information for the Nusuk questions.

Check your expiry date first: your passport must be valid until 1 December 2027. If you're renewing it, upload the passport you will travel on, because your visa is linked to the passport on your Nusuk profile.

Most rejected registrations can be traced back to an uploaded document or scan issue, so the next section shows exactly what a successful upload looks like.

Two Uploads That Pass the First Time

Nusuk reads your passport details directly from your scan, so a clear, correctly sized file saves you a correction request later.

Your Passport Scan

Nusuk needs only your passport's photo page: the one with your picture and personal details.

  • Complete

All four corners are in view, along with the two lines of code at the bottom.

  • Clear

Every letter is readable, and nothing covers your details, including glare, shadows, or fingers.

  • True to size

The image isn't stretched or squashed.

Common reasons a passport scan fails: edges cut off, or glare on the details.

Your Personal Photo

You can take this at home with a phone. Switch the camera to its square (1:1) setting and have someone else take the picture.

  • Background

A plain white wall behind you.

  • Framing

Head and shoulders, with your face centred and filling about 70% of the frame.

  • Light

Soft, even light with no strong shadows on your face.

Common reasons a personal photo fails: a dark image, or a face that is off centre.

Scanning in the correct file sizes and formats will save you from rejections.

Complete Your Registration in Three Stages

  1. Create your account: go to hajj.nusuk.sa, choose your country of residence, and enter your email address. Accept the terms, enter the one-time code from your email, and set your password.
  2. Add your documents: upload your passport scan and personal photo. Nusuk then fills in your passport details automatically, so review each one carefully.
  3. Answer and submit: complete the personal, contact, travel, background, and health sections. Then read through everything once more and submit for verification.

Match Your Passport, Letter for Letter

Nusuk compares your application with your passport, so these details must match it exactly. Use your full names as printed, even if you usually go by a shorter name.

What to Do When a Field Is Unclear

  • No flight booked yet?

If the flight number field is required, enter TBC or 0. Leave out any number you don't actually have.

  • No PO Box number?

If the field is required, enter your home postal code or zip code instead.

  • Health questions?

Answer each one accurately. They're part of your registration, and separate from the health requirements for the Kingdom.

The 1448 form may word these fields differently, so follow what's on screen.

Build Your Travel Group

Couples and families book together on Nusuk under one lead applicant. This person manages the group, chooses the package, and runs the eWallet, so decide who it will be first. There are two ways to build your group.

Option A: Start from One Account

The lead applicant adds family members inside their own application. Each person's documents are still verified individually. You can add up to seven family members.

Option B: Link Separate Accounts

  1. Each person registers on their own account, ideally waiting until they're verified.
  2. The lead applicant opens Profile > My Family > Add Family Member and enters the other person's registered email.
  3. The other person logs in, taps the bell icon, and accepts the family invitation.
  4. The lead applicant checks that everyone now appears in the group.

Fund Your eWallet

Your eWallet goes live when you add funds. In 1447, group changes could become restricted or locked after that point, so confirm three things first.

  • Lead

The right person is the lead applicant.

  • People

Everyone travelling with you is added and verified.

  • Details

Every name and relationship is correct.

How Your eWallet Works

  • Profile verified: your eWallet is available once you are verified.
  • Funds added: adding funds activates it.
  • Saudi riyals: it is funded in Saudi riyals (SAR).
  • Full amount ready: there's no pay-later option, so the full package amount needs to be in your eWallet before you buy on the sales dates.

Know Where Your Application Stands

Each stage tells you what Nusuk has done and what comes next.

Four Milestones to Plan Around

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announces each milestone as the season unfolds. Here's when each one opened for Hajj 1447, so you know what order to expect for 1448.

What happens

  • The Ministry processes Nusuk Hajj accounts for the new season.

About This Guide

This guide follows the Hajj 1447 (2026) experience. Nusuk updates its platform each season, so screens, dates, and requirements may differ for 1448 (2027). Where the live platform or an official Saudi notice says otherwise, that guidance comes first.
